Vacancy Seat #2

The Asturia Community Development District (the “District”) would like to announce the expected vacancy of Seat #2 on the District’s Board of Supervisors (the “Board”). The vacant seat will be filled through the appointment process by the remaining members of the Board.

The Board will be responsible for appointing a qualified applicant to fill the remainder of the term for Seat # (which expires in November, 2024). All interested District residents are requested to send their resume/or letter-of-interest to the District Manager (see below for contact information). The Board requests that anyone who sends their resume or letter to please attend the May 21, 2024 meeting, where the Board will allow each applicant to speak for 3 minutes and engage in 2 minutes of Questions and Answers with the Board, which timeframes may be extended in the Board’s sole discretion. 

After, the Board’s review of the resumes and letters and the applicants’ opportunity to speak to the Board, it is the Board’s intent to appoint the selected candidate to the seat (without any further input from the applicants) at the May 21, 2024, meeting. 

Qualification Requirements:

·     Applicants must be a “qualified elector” pursuant to Section 190.003(17), Florida Statutes, which means each applicant must be at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States, a legal resident of Florida and of the District, and registered to vote with the Supervisor of Elections in Pasco County.

·     The applicant needs to be willing to attend the remaining monthly Regular Board meetings (in person) as well as any  workshops which may be held. 

·     How to apply: Send a 1-page letter or a 1-page professional biography with your name, address and contact information (note that once sent this information is subject to public records requests). If your personal information is exempt from public records, please provide this information when you apply by email.

Welcome to the official website for the Asturia Community Development District (the “District”). This website is funded on behalf of the District to serve two major purposes. The first is to comply with Chapter 189.069 of the Florida Statutes, which requires each special District to maintain an official website. The second is an effort to help educate the general public about the services provided by the District, and to highlight the other agencies involved in the day-to-day operations of the community. These agencies include but are not limited to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Pasco County and the Asturia homeowner’s association.

Asturia Community Development District Disclosure

Please be advised that the Asturia Community Development District (the “District”), a local unit of special purpose government created under Florida law, has constructed and is responsible for the maintenance of certain improvements, infrastructure and facilities within the District. The District financed this construction through the sale of tax-exempt bonds, a form of public financing. As a result, and in accordance with applicable federal and state law, all District owned improvements, infrastructure and facilities are and shall remain open and accessible to the general public. Should you have any questions on this matter, non-resident user fees applicable to District recreational facilities, or any other general District issue, please feel free to contact the District Manager.
